The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Symposium 2024 marked a significant event in the calendar of women’s health professionals. The RANZCOG Symposium 2024 kicked off with a one-day workshops program, followed by a two-day scientific program. The theme for this year, “Sunrise to Sunset: The Dawn of a New Day in Women’s Health,” set the tone for an array of insightful sessions and discussions covering a wide spectrum of topics. These included High-Risk Obstetrics, Emerging Technologies in O&G, Urogynaecology, Rural O&G, The Business of Medicine, Gynaecology and Hot Flushes, plus lots more.

The symposium not only provided a platform for learning but also fostered engagement through various interactive elements such as a trade exhibition, Breakfast Masterclasses, Lunch and Learn sessions, a Symposium Sunset Soiree, static poster displays, and free communications.

The event featured 26 esteemed speakers, delivering 144 accepted abstracts that enriched the scientific program with diverse perspectives and cutting-edge research. The launch of the Academy of Clinician Educators (ACE) by RANZCOG Fellow Associate Professor Sarah Janssens was a highlight of the symposium, marking a significant step towards advancing education and training in obstetrics and gynaecology.

The Sunset Soiree

In place of a traditional meeting dinner, the Symposium Sunset Soiree hosted at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort provided a unique opportunity for attendees to network and unwind. Guests were treated to arrival drinks, decadent canapés, and entertainment from local artists, along with lawn games. The setting fostered a relaxed atmosphere, encouraging meaningful connections among the attendees.
